How nonprofit organizations use social media is a rapidly evolving subject. Our panel will explore this from a number of angles, discuss trends, tips and tools and take your questions.

Moderator
Nicole HarrisonNicole Harrison
Principal/Social Media and Interactive Communications Specialist
SocialNicole, LLC

Torn between a youthful desire to ‘change the world’ and a natural entrepreneurial spirit, Nicole spent almost a decade working in nonprofits while also working as a marketing consultant. Leaving the security of a fulltime job, Nicole jumped at the chance to serve as marketing and development director for Minnesota-based MicroGrants. It was a fortuitous decision - Nicole discovered the power of social media marketing. Nicole honed her expertise in social media as Digital Strategist for The Ritter Group. SocialNicole was born from these experiences. Nicole now works with businesses helping them to connect, engage and grow through digital strategy. She's also the moderator of the popular weekly Twitter chat, #NpTalk.

Panel
Jesse StremchaJesse Stremcha
e-Philanthropy Strategist
The Foundation of Children's Hospitals and Clinics of MN

Jesse helps nonprofits build connections and fundraise more efficiently and effectively using online tools. Most recently, Jesse led a team to develop and implement aggressive strategies to increase online giving, social media engagement, and web usage at Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. In two years, he helped increase online gifts over 200% and establish a nationally-recognized social media program. He’s a student of productivity, creativity, innovation and tries to bring out the best in partners. Jesse is a voracious consumer of content, loves St. Paul, works at being a good husband and dad, has a passion for food and tries to stay fit biking and running (not necessarily in that order).

When not co-collaborating on new, exciting ventures (which is rare), you'll find Jamie walking her dogs or drooling over the newest tech gadget or video game.

Kris HusonKris Huson
Marketing & Communications Manager
Children's Cancer Research Fund

Kris started her communications career as a Russian linguist in the Army, and continues to be fascinated by learning an industry’s “language” and translating it into consumable and inspiring “English” for the end-user. After leading marketing efforts in employee benefits and the film industry, she set her sights on nonprofits where she has been for more than a decade. Kris currently leads marketing and communications at  Children's Cancer Research Fund (@childrenscancer) where she helps to educate millions about childhood cancers and motivate donors to show compassion through action. Kris shares her time, talents and treasure with other causes through philanthropy and volunteerism serving as past Board Chair of Rock the Cause and PR advisor for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and championing causes she and her tribe believe in. An active Tweep, Kris was recently named on of MetroMix's Top Tweeps of the Twin Cities.

So what is a "Social Media Breakfast"? It's where folks get together to talk about using social media and social networking tools in their business or careers. It's about networking, it's about learning, and mostly it's about people.
